Do you dare come with me – I, who descends
Again through this abyss that once brought me
Here to this place of dark dancing that lends
Life a renewal of the sacred free?
If you think forests like these terrify,
Wait ‘til I drag you deep into the cave,
A place that Plato’d fear, rooms that defy
You to show that you, trembling, can be brave.
Only when this cave echoes with your screams
And you escape with your mind still intact,
As I did years before. The heaven teams
With the bright light of insight. Can you act
To bring up to the world a life that’s new
Out of the depths of your deep past and you?
