The social world norms
To which I fail to acclimate
And failing them unleashes storms
That I don't know how to abate
And so I have to set up rules
To travel through the simple things
As though I am the king of fools
And every move makes jinglings
And so I greet you at the door
And ask you if your day went right
I ask you write down every chore
And say "I love you" every night
Please do not think because I must
Make rules so I can do my share
That I am cold -- I hope you trust
It means I truly deeply care
