The Poet Getting Older

I ate at eight
That’s much too late
And now I have to face my fate

Now I have gas
That I must pass
Both from my stomach and my ass

The acid flows
Up through my nose
Each time I lie down, try to doze

So here I sit
A little bit
And write this piece of rhyming wit.
